At Granite Springs Dentistry we have state-of-the-art technology to provide the best dental care for you and your family. Our office provides many modern amenities to give our patients a comfortable dental experience.
Dental Chairs
Pelton and Crane corporation manufacture upper-end dental products to ensure your comfort and health.
The Dental chairs have comfortable armrests, and even offer a gentle back massage to help you relax. The headrest is easily maneuvered to many positions, accommodating patients with limited neck mobility.
Washer & Autoclave
Pelton and Crane corporation manufacture upper-end dental products to ensure your comfort and health.
The Washer and Autoclave are responsible for cleaning and sterilizing all dental instruments. We want you to know that all our instruments are clean. Therefore, these are strategically placed in the main hall of the office, visible for all to see.
Digital Radiography
Traditional films take time to process, involve various chemicals and require exposure to a certain amount of radiation. They are very small and can be readily shared with patients or other professionals.
Digital x-rays use less radiation and are exposed onto small sensors which reveal the image instantly onto a 27″ monitor. These images can be digitally enhanced to clarify a variety of conditions, enabling patients to more fully understand the existing condition and treatment recommendation.
We use both intraoral x-ray as well as panoramic x-ray digital imaging systems.
Diagnodent Laser
The Diagnodent Laser measures light fluorescence within the tooth structure. It emits light at a wavelength of 655 nm. Healthy tooth structure exhibits little or no fluorescence. Tooth structure that has been altered by bacteria will fluoresce. An audible tone will sound, and a number between 1-100 will indicate to the patient and operator the presence of decay.
Personal Televisions
Each operatory is equipped with 27″ LED monitors on an overhead display, easily maneuvered to accommodate a declined or upright position. This enables us to clearly educate you using x-rays, charts, and intraoral pictures of your mouth.
We also offer the added convenience of digital entertainment during dental treatment. Bring your own headphones, or use ours for a quality distraction.
Paperless Charting
Paper charting is archaic. They can be damaged, misplaced, and are not readily available for sharing with insurance companies or medical professionals.
Our digital systems remedy these issues and are stored safely on our secure local intranet.
Digital Photography
Seeing enables understanding. Intraoral cameras can take images of oral lesions, damaged teeth, etc. and enlarge them. We display these images on a 27″ television right in the operatory, enabling you to more fully understand your dental condition and recommended treatment.
Occasionally, we will also use a Nikon digital SLR camera with 85mm macro lens to document treatment. These images may be used for discussing dental cases with other dental professionals.
Electronic Insurance Processing
Many insurance companies now offer electronic claims processing and pre-authorization. This enables us to expedite the process to ensure treatment as soon as possible.
Sterisil
Most dentists hope you never hear about the “bacterial biofilm” that builds up inside the dental chair hoses. Bacteria attach to one another quickly and create a biofilm inside the hose. These biofilms can be inches in length, attached to the inside of the hose and released in the water when used. In order to prevent the buildup of these biofilms, it is recommended to “flush” the waterlines daily, and use caustic chemicals and tablets to provide clean water. These chemicals can leave a strange aftertaste. Most importantly, it only works if the staff remember to do it!
The Sterisil® System uses UV radiation, carbon block, and membrane filtration, and reverse osmosis to prevent particles as small as 1 micron from entering the dental water lines. The system is engineered to treat dental water (~≤ 10cfu/ml bacteria). This rating is 50 times below the CDC and ADA guideline. This system uses six stages of treatment including class B Ultraviolet Irradiation disinfection of Protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. It also removes many microorganisms such as species of Pseudomonas, Streptococcus, Ligionella, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
